About the role
The Supervisor – Maintenance is responsible for leading and directing the maintenance mechanics performing preventative/corrective maintenance procedures to ensure equipment reliability. Train team members on technical processes in order to perform timely repairs and high quality Preventive Maintenance (P.M’s). Ensure that the equipment operates up to its original performance and quality specifications.
Responsibilities
- Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the UNITED policies and applicable laws
- Interview, hire, and train associates
- Plan, assign, and direct work
- Appraise performance
- Address complaints and resolve problems
- Builds positive associate morale
- Develop and implement scheduled Preventive Maintenance (P.M’s)
- Develop work schedules of the mechanics
- Direct mechanics in performing proper and correct repairs
- Enforce parts room procedures to help ensure that proper parts are available when needed
- Enforce all safety policies of the Department
- Promote Food Safety in all areas of Maintenance
- Directly supervises Maintenance employees
- Effective use of all maintenance operating systems up to and including Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and Production Line Monitoring System (PLMS)
- Performs appropriate duties as assigned by management
Requirements
- Minimum age 18 years old
- Valid driver’s license required and obligation to maintain compliance with UNITED fleet policy
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required by position and compliance with UNITED safety policies
- Regular and prompt attendance is an essential function of the job
- Able to read, write and speak English
- Able to maintain a neat professional appearance within Company guidelines
- Able to maintain safety and security of Company assets
- Able to utilize all Company provided resources and technology
- Strong leadership and organizational skills
- Proven ability to coach and manage needs and concerns of multiple associates
- Associate degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school; or 6 months to 1-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Willingness to work weekends, holidays, or flexible schedule as required
- Proficient knowledge in the operation of continuous motion packaging, filling, and palletizing equipment
- Strong communication and problem-solving and time management skills
- Able to multitask and work efficiently under pressure
- Able to effectively adapt to change
