Job Responsibilities
- Aid with lot operations on a daily basis to ensure efficient operations before and after sales.
- Supervise the daily operation of the vehicle check-in area by overseeing and coordinating the activities and workflow of sale lot drivers, check-in personnel, lane captains, and other lot operations employees.
- Coordinate the movement of vehicles from check-in to the sale lanes to ensure efficient lot operations.
- Ensure incoming vehicles are received, stocked-in, numerated, and parked in the proper areas.
- Provide quality service and interact with customers to resolve any issues that arise.
- Inspect and maintain lot operations equipment to ensure it is functional and in good working condition.
- Maintain records of lot damage and meet with the Operations Manager regularly to review and resolve potential issues.
- Coordinate with Reconditioning, Check-in, Factory, and Fleet/Lease departments to schedule and prepare vehicles for sale, ensure accurate and efficient vehicle check-in, and maintain the proper sequence of vehicles.
- Supervise and direct the work of lot operations employees by determining work procedures, preparing work schedules, expediting workflow, assigning duties, and monitoring work for accuracy and compliance with policies and procedures.
- Assist the manager in counseling and disciplining employees as necessary.
- Under the direction of the manager, plan, monitor, and evaluate employee job performance, and assist the manager in conducting performance appraisals.
- Visibly demonstrate safety commitment by following all safety and health procedures and modeling the behaviors related to such.
- Work in cooperation with safety leadership in support of all safety activities aligned with Safety Excellence.
- Work with the manager to review work volumes, plan, and continuously monitor staffing levels to ensure efficiency, quality work product, and effective customer service; review departmental performance against key performance indicators and metrics and develop and execute strategies for improvement.
- Effectively lead the team at the location by setting an example in behavior, championing Cox/Manheim values, and ensuring that all employees are treated with respect.
- Enforce all company policies and procedures related to employee and customer conduct.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED and 5 years' experience in a related field (automotive shop preferred).
- The right candidate could also have a different combination, such as a bachelor's degree in a related discipline and 3 years' experience in a related field; a master's degree and 1 year of experience; or a Ph.D. and up to 1 year of experience.
- Minimum of 3 years lot operations experience preferred.
- Experience in automobile industry or the Auction business preferred.
- Strong communication and interaction skills required.
- Cum competent supervisory and organizational skills required.
- Good computer and software knowledge.
- Safe drivers needed; valid driver's license required.
- Ability to drive vehicles with standard and automatic transmission.
- Frequently required to stand, walk, reach, talk, and hear.
- Frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts hazard, electrical shock hazard, and toxic or caustic chemicals.
- Moderate noise level.
- Exposure to all weather conditions.
Pay
Compensation includes a base salary in the range of $50,400.00 - $75,600.00. The base salary may vary within the anticipated base pay range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include an incentive program.
