About the role
The Supervisor II manages, tracks, forecasts, orders, and reports on all new CAT & Allied inventory lines.
Responsibilities
- Implement policies for operating, including hours of operation, staffing requirements, duties, shop cleanliness, and estimates for products and services.
- Work closely with PSSR’s and Sales Representatives to provide solutions to customer requests.
- Promote a collaborative work environment across all divisions.
- Prepare work schedules and assign workers to specific duties to maximize customer satisfaction.
- Open and close work orders, take service calls, and perform on-call duties as required.
- Ensure safety policies are upheld throughout the shop and the field.
- Analyze and resolve work problems or assist workers in solving them.
- May perform activities of workers supervised.
- Proactively establish effective relationships and support others in achieving high performance.
- Demonstrate professional behavior, flexibility, and effective communication skills in interactions both internally and externally.
- Influence people rather than demand compliance.
- Exhibit professional behavior with internal and external business associates that reflects positively on the company.
- Spend a large portion of the workday communicating orally in person and by phone.
Requirements
- Understanding of the overall mission of the dealership.
- Knowledge of machine/engine specifications and how they relate to appropriate order quantities in different geographical areas.
- Ability to communicate clearly in writing and through charts and statistical means.
- Good computer skills with a thorough understanding of Microsoft-based products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience with a Caterpillar dealership (preferred).
Physical Demands & Work Environment
- Required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear.
- Frequently required to stand, walk, sit, and reach with hands and arms.
- Occasionally required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
- Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
- Required travel up to 10%.
- This position is considered safety-sensitive.
