About the Role
The Sales Supervisor supports daily store operations while delivering an exceptional customer experience and driving sales performance. This role serves as a key leader on the sales floor, providing guidance and support to Members, resolving customer concerns, and ensuring a welcoming, service-focused shopping environment. The Sales Supervisor actively engages with customers, utilizes product knowledge and selling skills to meet customer needs, and contributes to the achievement of sales goals and key performance indicators. This position promotes a positive and professional store culture by leading through example, maintaining high standards of customer service, and ensuring compliance with all company policies, procedures, and operational standards.
Responsibilities
- Greet and welcome guests as they enter the store, assisting and answering any questions about the experience.
- Actively listen to guests' needs and provide product knowledge while sharing key recommendations tailored to the guests’ needs.
- Be the lead host of the store, championing service expectations by leading by example on the shop floor.
- Assist in leading training sessions for vendors and service.
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of all products and stay up to date with knowledge around current events, trends, and styling.
- Process sales transactions accurately and efficiently using the point-of-sale (POS) system.
- Handle cash and card transactions, issue receipts, and process exchanges or returns.
- Assist with merchandising tasks, including restocking shelves, arranging displays, and maintaining a tidy and organized store environment.
- Ensure products are properly tagged with pricing and follow visual merchandising guidelines.
- Build rapport with guests to foster loyalty and repeat business.
- Collaborate with fellow Members and store management to achieve store targets and objectives.
- Assist in inventory management tasks, such as conducting cycle counts, inventories, and regular replenishing.
- Participate in product knowledge training sessions to enhance expertise and skills.
- Adhere to store security measures and assist in loss prevention efforts to minimize theft and shrinkage.
- Ensure all Members are providing excellent service according to service standards and expectations.
- Ensure all policy and procedures are being upheld and executed consistently.
- Maintain a team environment of integrity and service through leading by example.
Requirements
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- High school diploma or equivalent (some college education preferred).
- One (1) year of retail supervisory experience in a commission environment preferred.
- One (1) year of retail operations experience in a retail environment preferred.
- Previous retail supervisor or customer service supervisor experience is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact with customers, Members, and managers effectively.
- Enthusiastic and friendly personality with a customer-centric approach.
- Comfortable providing feedback to team members that supports a professional and productive selling environment.
- Ability to work as part of a team and take initiative, problem-solve, and work independent of direct supervision.
- Ability to perform basic math functions such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Must be willing and able to work a flexible schedule to include nights, holidays, and weekends.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, busy, and somewhat stressful environment.
Supervisory Responsibilities
This position does not have direct supervisory responsibility but serves as a lead on the sales floor, supporting daily store operations, assisting with task delegation, providing guidance to Members, and helping to ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and service standards.
Skills
- Ability to read and interpret documents in English, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to read and communicate verbally in English. Written communication skills in English may also be required.
- Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Physical Demands
- While performing the duties of this job, the Member is regularly required to stand and use hands and fingers to handle or utilize objects, tools, or controls.
- The Member frequently is required to reach with hands and arms and talk or hear.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and peripheral vision.
- The Member must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Must have the ability to push, pull, reach, bend, twist, stoop, stack, crouch, kneel, and balance when performing job duties in varying work areas such as confined spaces.
Work Environment
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
- Member could be exposed to an environment containing unrestricted secondhand tobacco smoke.
Pay
$26.44 per hour.
