About the role
The Warehouse Fulfillment Center Supervisor plays a crucial role in the Staples Supply Chain team, focusing on three main goals: delivering exceptional customer service, enhancing operational efficiency, and ensuring a positive workplace environment.
Responsibilities
- Motivate and manage hourly associates to achieve performance goals, productivity, accuracy, and quality control standards.
- Lead the team in daily, weekly, and monthly planning of departments.
- Make recommendations and improvements to department processes and procedures.
- Participate in the hiring, training, and coaching of associates.
- Evaluate department performance using operational reports and ensure expectations are met.
- Collaborate with the Fulfillment Center Team Manager and other management to operate within guidelines and achieve success.
- Ensure safe work practices and foster a strong safety culture.
Requirements
- Ability to accurately calculate and plan headcount to meet departmental objectives.
- Foster communication and teamwork among staff and collaborate with all team members for successful customer outcomes.
- Understand and use Fulfillment/Distribution technology, including WMS (if applicable).
- Able to adopt and follow safety procedures and promote a safe work environment.
- Show analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Have an inclusive nature that seeks common ground, listens to others, and advocates for the best solutions for both customers and employees.
- Lead by example and maintain a growth mindset as a leader, customer advocate, and contributor.
- Comfortable working in a warehouse environment with seasonal temperature variations and able to open and close the building.
- Basic English language skills (verbal and written).
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
- At least one year of experience working in a warehouse environment.
- Ability to pass a drug screen to the extent legally permissible.
Skills
- Strong leadership and motivational skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Technical proficiency with Fulfillment/Distribution systems.
- Proven ability to solve problems and think analytically.
- Experience in a fast-paced, high-volume warehouse setting.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
