About the role

The Warehouse Fulfillment Center Supervisor plays a crucial role in the Staples Supply Chain team, focusing on three main goals: delivering exceptional customer service, enhancing operational efficiency, and ensuring a positive workplace environment.

Responsibilities

  • Motivate and manage hourly associates to achieve performance goals, productivity, accuracy, and quality control standards.
  • Lead the team in daily, weekly, and monthly planning of departments.
  • Make recommendations and improvements to department processes and procedures.
  • Participate in the hiring, training, and coaching of associates.
  • Evaluate department performance using operational reports and ensure expectations are met.
  • Collaborate with the Fulfillment Center Team Manager and other management to operate within guidelines and achieve success.
  • Ensure safe work practices and foster a strong safety culture.

Requirements

  • Ability to accurately calculate and plan headcount to meet departmental objectives.
  • Foster communication and teamwork among staff and collaborate with all team members for successful customer outcomes.
  • Understand and use Fulfillment/Distribution technology, including WMS (if applicable).
  • Able to adopt and follow safety procedures and promote a safe work environment.
  • Show analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Have an inclusive nature that seeks common ground, listens to others, and advocates for the best solutions for both customers and employees.
  • Lead by example and maintain a growth mindset as a leader, customer advocate, and contributor.
  • Comfortable working in a warehouse environment with seasonal temperature variations and able to open and close the building.
  • Basic English language skills (verbal and written).

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • At least one year of experience working in a warehouse environment.
  • Ability to pass a drug screen to the extent legally permissible.

Skills

  • Strong leadership and motivational skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Technical proficiency with Fulfillment/Distribution systems.
  • Proven ability to solve problems and think analytically.
  • Experience in a fast-paced, high-volume warehouse setting.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
