About the role

The Warehouse Fulfillment Center Supervisor plays a crucial role in the Staples Supply Chain team, focusing on three main goals: delivering exceptional customer service, enhancing operational efficiency, and ensuring a positive workplace environment.

Responsibilities

  • Motivate and manage hourly associates to achieve performance goals, productivity, accuracy, and quality control standards.
  • Lead the team in daily, weekly, and monthly planning of the department.
  • Make recommendations and improvements to department processes and procedures.
  • Participate in the hiring, training, and coaching of associates.
  • Evaluate department performance using operational reports and ensure expectations are met.
  • Collaborate with the Fulfillment Center Team Manager and other management to operate within all guidelines and achieve success.
  • Ensure safe work practices and foster a strong safety culture.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • At least one year of experience working in a warehouse environment.
  • Ability to pass a drug screen to the extent legally permissible.
  • Basic English language skills (verbal and written).
  • Ability to lift, lower, push, pull, or carry product up to a maximum of 70 pounds by hand.

Qualifications

  • Basic qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • One year of experience in a warehouse setting.

Skills

  • Ability to accurately calculate and plan headcount to meet departmental objectives.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Understanding and proficiency in Fulfillment/Distribution technology.
  • Ability to adopt and follow safety procedures.
  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Inclusive leadership style that fosters collaboration and supports both customers and employees.
  • Comfortable working in a warehouse environment with seasonal temperature variations.
  • Ability to open and close the building, including being a key holder.
