About the role
The Warehouse Fulfillment Center Supervisor plays a crucial role in the Staples Supply Chain team, focusing on three main goals: delivering exceptional customer service, enhancing operational efficiency, and ensuring a positive workplace environment.
Responsibilities
- Motivate and manage hourly associates to achieve performance goals, productivity, accuracy, and quality control standards.
- Lead the team in daily, weekly, and monthly planning of the department.
- Make recommendations and improvements to department processes and procedures.
- Participate in the hiring, training, and coaching of associates.
- Evaluate department performance using operational reports and ensure expectations are met.
- Collaborate with the Fulfillment Center Team Manager and other management to operate within all guidelines and achieve success.
- Ensure safe work practices and foster a strong safety culture.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- At least one year of experience working in a warehouse environment.
- Ability to pass a drug screen to the extent legally permissible.
- Basic English language skills (verbal and written).
- Ability to lift, lower, push, pull, or carry product up to a maximum of 70 pounds by hand.
Qualifications
- Basic qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent.
- One year of experience in a warehouse setting.
Skills
- Ability to accurately calculate and plan headcount to meet departmental objectives.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Understanding and proficiency in Fulfillment/Distribution technology.
- Ability to adopt and follow safety procedures.
- Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Inclusive leadership style that fosters collaboration and supports both customers and employees.
- Comfortable working in a warehouse environment with seasonal temperature variations.
- Ability to open and close the building, including being a key holder.
