About the role

The Drug and Alcohol Program Supervisor’s primary responsibilities include providing clinical oversight for the Drug and Alcohol Program team, offering individual and group clinical supervision, managing caseloads, conducting case consultations, and overseeing documentation and billing processes.

Responsibilities

  • Supervision:
    • Provide minimum one-hour individual supervision for SACs monthly
    • Provide minimum one-hour group supervision a month to SACs
    • Document supervision within 48 hours
    • Conduct case consultation conferences with doctor and SACs and document details on EHR
    • Implement policies and procedures for outpatient services
  • Caseload:
    • Provide therapeutic services to a caseload using various modalities
    • Manage SACs team and assign new clients
    • Apply for BHSI for clients without insurance
  • Caseload review:
    • Discharge clients after 60 days of not receiving counseling services
    • Ensure labs are up to date for all clients (weekly/bi-weekly)
    • Develop treatment plans based on ASAM criteria
    • Ensure releases and other relevant documents are up-to-date
    • Ensure SACs have sufficient caseload
    • Ensure counselors provide minimum 3 sessions a month to a client or based on ASAM criteria
    • Encourage in-person services
    • Require client signatures for services requiring them
    • Enter diagnosis in Credible during intake session
    • Ensure all services are fully documented within 7 days and ready for billing
  • Training:
    • Follow up on all mandated trainings with SACs during supervisions
    • Ensure SACs complete required trainings before annual evaluations
    • Make appropriate training recommendations for SACs
    • Complete performance evaluations and individual training plans for all SACs
    • Train SACs in all documentations used at APM
  • Billing:
    • Collect and ensure all SACs send billing sheets within 72 hours of providing service
    • Ensure all SACs send timesheets before the billing closing date and time
  • Documentation:
    • Review and approve treatment plans, evaluations, intakes, family/couple/group therapy for billing
    • Randomly review progress notes to ensure compliance with treatment plan goals and chart status
    • Complete case consultations with SACs and Dr. within 48 hours and document in Credible
    • Complete incident reports for CBH and APM and send documentation to Director of Operations
  • Supervision/meetings with Directors:
    • Attend weekly meetings with Directors for 1-2 hours
    • Submit weekly reports of team during meetings
  • Other duties as assigned:

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree or above from an accredited university/college with a major in medicine, chemical dependency, art therapy, dance therapy, human development and family studies, special education, sociology, counselor education, human behavior, Individual and Family Studies, Pastoral studies, music therapy, psychology, social work, nursing (with a clinical specialty in administration or human services)
  • Plus two (2) years of paid clinical experience in a health or human services agency which includes one (1) year supervising others working directly with the chemically dependent
  • CAC, CDAC licensed or qualified
  • Completed ASAM training
  • Trained in Motivational Interviewing
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish)
  • Proficiency in the DAP documentation
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Word
  • Experience in facilitating group therapy
  • Working with medication managed populations
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
