Supervisor Food Service (Patient Care)
About the Role
As our Food Services Supervisor (Patient Care), you will be a vital leader, ensuring high-quality, safe, and efficient food services. You will oversee daily food preparation, service, and sanitation while adhering to regulations. Your role includes managing staff, providing training, maintaining inventory, and ensuring customer satisfaction within budget to contribute to a positive dining experience.
You will combine strong organizational and leadership skills with attention to detail, food service expertise, and the ability to motivate your team, directly impacting patient satisfaction and well-being.
Responsibilities
- Directs storeroom clerk, cooks, and other Food and Nutrition Services (FNS) team members, ensuring operational needs are met.
- Collaborates in implementing and sustaining infection control practices to create a safe, sanitary, and orderly storage facility.
- Maintains communication with patients, staff, and customers regarding service levels, relaying feedback to the management team as needed.
- Ensures adequate staffing for daily needs while reflecting cost efficiency; assists with recruiting, hiring, and managing staff performance.
- Assigns staff and workload, adapting to changing priorities in daily operations.
- Actively collaborates in menu development for patient, cafeteria, and catering services.
- Works as a hands-on supervisor within the food service environment.
Requirements
- Two (2) years of experience in food service or one (1) year of hospital nutrition experience.
- Must obtain one of the following within 24 months:
- Registered Dietitian (RD) or
- Certified Dietary Manager (CDM).
- SERVSAFE MANAGER (SERVSAFMGR) certification.
- ServSafe General Certification (SERVSAFE GEN) within 60 days.
- Arizona Food Handler Permit or ServSafe Certification within 30 days.
- Basic computer skills and leadership experience.
Preferred: Associate’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Pay
$25.55 - $38.00 per hour.
