About the role
The Supervisor, Field Operations role at American Water involves managing the day-to-day operations of water and/or wastewater plants, operations, and distribution systems. Key responsibilities include assisting with budget preparation and control, ensuring regulatory compliance, supervising staff, implementing operational improvements, and fostering a diverse workforce.
Responsibilities
- Aid in preparing and controlling local construction, operations, and maintenance within budget limits.
- Create and maintain a program to meet EPA Partnership for Safe Water goals on a periodic basis.
- Ensure operations comply with regulatory standards and targets.
- Directly supervise the implementation of operational standards, targets, policies, and plans to enhance efficiency, effectiveness, and profitability.
- Develop and implement cost-effective solutions to meet customer expectations and technical requirements, promoting innovation and best practices.
- Coach and develop employees, encouraging idea generation and continuous improvement.
- Support the Business Development function in operational analysis, pricing, and integration of water and wastewater business opportunities.
- Collaborate with other functional leads to mitigate business risks and contribute to effective communication across the organization.
- Enhance flexibility in response to changing business environments through effective leadership and communication.
Requirements
- 3-5 years of experience in supervising operational areas and managing performance targets.
- A 2-year or 4-year degree in an operational discipline, management, or related technical field, or equivalent experience.
- Expert knowledge of process and operational areas within the regulated water/wastewater industry.
- Understanding of company policies and management theories, practices, and trends.

$61,050.00 - $102,030 annually.
