Supervisor - Facilities

Position to cover both Swedish Issaquah and Swedish Redmond facilities.

About the role

The Supervisor is responsible for providing leadership, vision, and a working environment that promotes teamwork and customer satisfaction. This role ensures that the standards of service are met for the Facilities Engineering team in a manner consistent with SMC's mission and values. The Supervisor plans work, schedules staff and vendors, supervises work order execution, coordinates system disruptions, tracks work status, and monitors and verifies the function of building environmental and life safety systems. The Supervisor provides advice and recommendations on the design, construction, and operation of physical plant systems and is responsible for their effective operation based on a high degree of technical knowledge and experience.

Responsibilities include assisting in managing the Facilities Engineering budget, implementing the Utility Management Plan, assisting in the development of the annual labor, operating, and capital budgets, and managing the Facilities Engineering staff to ensure the consistent, safe, and reliable operation of all utility systems, equipment, and properties. Individual responsibilities in areas such as plant operations, building finishes and envelope, and work order management may be assigned.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate system disruptions and track work status.
• Monitor and verify the function of building environmental and life safety systems.
• Provide advice and recommendations on the design, construction, and operation of physical plant systems.
• Assist in managing the Facilities Engineering budget.
• Implement the Utility Management Plan.
• Assist in developing annual labor, operating, and capital budgets.
• Manage Facilities Engineering staff to ensure safe and reliable operation of utility systems and equipment.
• Oversee plant operations, building finishes and envelope, and work order management.

Requirements

• Coursework/Training: Completion of a broad range of formal, specialized training courses pertaining to building maintenance and plant operations.
• Upon hire: National Boiler Operator Grade I, II, or III License - State County City Trade License Authority.
• 10 or more years of building maintenance and plant operations experience.
• Extensive experience in the maintenance of building envelopes, finishes, and equipment.
• Experience with utility and life safety systems including fan systems, chillers and chilled water distribution, cooling towers, emergency generators, electrical distribution, steam generation and distribution, heating water, plumbing, medical gases, and fire detection and suppression systems.
• Experience in the development, implementation, and monitoring of computer-based preventive maintenance programs.
• Experience with all hospital utility systems.
• Experience in a computer-based maintenance software system.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field or equivalent education/experience.

Pay

The pay range for this position is $39.45 - $61.24 per hour. These amounts are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
