Emanuel Medical Center, part of the Central Valley Doctors Health System, is a 209-bed acute care hospital located in Turlock, California. Since 1917, we have been dedicated to providing the best care possible for residents of Turlock and nearby communities, offering services that include 24-hour emergency care, a heart attack receiving center, advanced maternity and newborn care, rehabilitation, therapy, and specialized cancer services.

About the role

We are seeking an innovative and experienced healthcare leader to drive excellence and inspire our team towards exceptional patient outcomes and operational success in environmental services. This full-time, day-shift role is responsible for site direction of environmental services staff performing cleaning and project work at the medical center and associated locations.

Responsibilities

  • Provides essential day-shift leadership and oversight to ensure EVS operations run safely, efficiently, and without disruption during the hospital’s busiest hours.
  • Directly manages staffing, scheduling, attendance, daily work assignments, and employee performance to maintain productivity and accountability.
  • Ensures patient rooms, discharge rooms, and high-risk areas are cleaned and verified according to hospital and infection prevention standards.
  • Maintains compliance with CDPH, The Joint Commission (TJC), and hospital policies through ongoing monitoring, documentation, and staff training.
  • Prevents operational gaps that would otherwise shift critical responsibilities to the Director and existing staff, increasing the risk of delays, reduced oversight, regulatory findings, and impacts to patient care.

Requirements

  • Significant environmental services experience in a healthcare environment required (usually 3-5 years).
  • Previous experience in a lead or supervisory position required (usually 2 years).
  • Knowledge of hospital infection control, sanitation protocols, and cleaning methods required.
  • Management skills, including interviewing, organizing, planning, and problem-solving skills required.
  • A.A. degree or 2 years of college or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Association for the Healthcare Environment (AHE) or International Executive Housekeepers Association (IEHA) Certification preferred.

Pay

$37.50 - $39.37 hourly. Individual wages are determined based upon a number of factors including, but not limited to, an individual’s qualifications and experience.

Schedule

Full-time, day shift with holiday rotation.
