About the Role
Performs a variety of duties for the cleaning and maintenance of the clinic. The primary responsibility is to provide the highest quality of service to customers at all times. The Environmental Services Supervisor provides direction, training, and schedule coordination for a group of Environmental Services Technicians, while also performing the duties of an Environmental Services Technician.
Responsibilities
- Provides quality customer service through one-on-one attention to detail.
- Assists in the hiring process, including interviewing, hiring, and conducting performance evaluations and training for new associates.
- Reviews and evaluates the work performance of assigned personnel and makes recommendations to the director.
- Counsels and disciplines assigned personnel as necessary and reports such actions to the director.
- Prepares work schedules and conducts daily operational processes.
- Trains and supervises all personnel.
- Assists in preparing budgets, work reports, and other administrative guides.
- Coordinates outside services (e.g., pest control, window cleaning, medical and solid waste disposal, document destruction, and recycling program).
- Manages performance, including setting goals, clarifying job expectations, monitoring progress, providing feedback, and addressing performance issues.
- Ensures proper staff scheduling and performs daily activities in areas of responsibility.
- Develops and posts employee schedules according to department policy.
- Coordinates and oversees daily and weekly activities/tasks performed by staff.
- Updates and communicates job-flow changes.
- Orders supplies for department needs and monitors expenditures with director approval.
- Contributes to team efforts and exhibits professionalism with customers and colleagues.
- Handles non-routine/complex situations regarding department tasks.
- Trains new Environmental Services team members.
- Monitors and oversees assigned areas to ensure timely completion of assignments.
- Reports areas of concern to the Director.
- Inspects and maintains equipment daily to ensure proper usage.
- Cleans light fixtures, ceilings, vents, walls, furniture, windows, window coverings, floors, carpets, restroom fixtures, nurses’ stations, patient service areas, business offices, front lobby areas, and waiting rooms.
- Disposes of trash according to prescribed guidelines.
- Replenishes paper and plastic products.
- Moves furniture, supplies, and equipment.
- Realigns furniture and amenities according to prescribed layout.
- Pushes/pulls cleaning carts or flatbeds and carries buckets.
- Operates equipment such as vacuum cleaners.
- Maintains equipment and wears protective clothing as required by safety regulations.
- Communicates daily with applicable staff on cleaning and scheduling.
- Completes Daily Task Sheet.
- Responds to guest queries and requests.
- Travels to clinics for general cleaning as requested by management.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or G.E.D. (required).
- Current valid Arkansas Driver’s License.
- Minimum of one year of housekeeping experience, preferably in a hospital or healthcare setting.
- Minimum two years of experience in a supervisory role within an Environmental Services department (required).
- Reliable source of transportation.

- Frequent pushing and pulling of heavy objects and the ability to lift, carry, and move up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
