Job Summary
The Environmental Services Manager oversees all Laundry, Health Center, and Residential Housekeeping operations, while partnering closely with the Director of Environmental Services to manage daily activities across Independent, Assisted, and Memory Care departments.
Essential Job Duties
- Establishes and annually reviews standards and work procedures for all housekeeping staff.
- Direct distinct cleaning protocols for residential apartments, common social spaces, dining rooms, and clinical medical units.
- Implement and enforce rigorous infection control measures to protect a highly vulnerable resident population from outbreaks like influenza or norovirus.
- Maintain constant readiness for state department of health inspections, ensuring full compliance with Survey, Title 22, OSHA. State and Federal Laws.
- Oversee high-volume industrial laundry systems, ensuring the safe, separate processing of facility linens and delicate personal resident clothing.
- Plans work and staffing schedules and areas of work to ensure adequate services are rendered.
- Aids in the hiring process; interviews, hires, and trains new staff.
- Orients, develops, and supervises all environmental services staff.
- Maintains a safety program to assist in reducing work-related injuries.
- Conducts corrective action and performance evaluations for the department.
- Oversees, maintains, and safeguards the Resident Storage areas, Annual Unit Cleaning, and Annual Carpet cleaning programs.
- Conducts regular inspections and makes recommendations to the facility.
- Monthly reporting of goals, accomplishments, and future plans.
- Staff education and training.
- Communication with staff, administration, and other departments.
- Coordination of outside services (i.e. Pest Control, Window Cleaning, Trash and Recycling programs).
Who You Are
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of two (2) to three (3) years in environmental services as supervisor.
- Experience working with computer systems such as Microsoft Suite.
- Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
- Must possess a valid California driver’s license.
- Possess a thorough knowledge of contract administration and office procedures.
- Must demonstrate outstanding interpersonal abilities.
