The Engineering Supervisor, Optimus Technicians leads a large team of 20+ Engineering Technicians within the Humanoid AI Robot team. This team supports and sustains the research and development of prototype robots and sub-systems, including highly actuated and electronically/computationally dense machines.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team operating in a 24/7 capacity, creating clear and efficient shift schedules.
  • Build and repair prototypes, analyze, test, and document the machines being developed.
  • Manage projects with limited upfront guidance, focusing on precision and innovation.
  • Develop technical acumen and knowledge of all Tesla products, service systems, processes, and procedures.
  • Ensure daily, weekly, and monthly goals are met, maintaining high standards in customer service, team management, operations, and financial performance.
  • Engage with customers, monitor service trends, and implement continuous improvements.
  • Inspire and develop your team, fostering a positive work environment and providing regular feedback and coaching.
  • Drive operational excellence by improving all aspects of service center performance and championing safety and efficiency.
  • Manage finances, understand business metrics, and lead daily operations to achieve specific goals in quality, productivity, cost, and revenue.
  • Act in the best interest of Tesla, demonstrating sound judgment, passion for the mission, and fostering a customer-focused culture.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree, or equivalent experience.
  • Prior leadership experience in a service-focused industry; automotive expertise is not required.
  • Proven experience leading field, technical repair, or manufacturing teams in a fast-paced, technology-driven environment with strong customer-facing responsibilities.
  • Experience running complex processes using Lean or other techniques.
  • Valid driver’s license required.

Qualifications

  • Ability to travel up to 75%.
  • Experience leading large teams.

Skills

  • Broad background in Mechatronics, Industrial, and/or Automotive, Precision Medical Device, Maintenance, and Testing.
  • Self-starter with strong independent and team working abilities.

Pay

  • $120,800 - $181,200/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits.
