Supervisor, EL Instructional Services - 250 Day
Job Summary
This position works collaboratively with division personnel, school administrators, teachers, and all central office departments to ensure effective instruction for English Learners (ELs) to foster individual student achievement in academics and language development as well as continuous instructional improvement through the practical application of research-based best practices, evidence-based best practices, and data analysis. This position provides technical assistance, consultation, and leadership to all PWCS employees in EL program design, implementation of curricula, staffing, instructional methods, resources, service delivery, and assessment practices.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with division personnel, school administrators, teachers, and central office departments to ensure effective instruction for ELs.
- Foster individual student achievement in academics and language development.
- Ensure continuous instructional improvement through the practical application of research-based and evidence-based best practices and data analysis.
- Provide technical assistance, consultation, and leadership to all PWCS employees in EL program design, implementation of curricula, staffing, instructional methods, resources, service delivery, and assessment practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Linguistics, Psychology, or related field.
- Master's degree in Education, Linguistics, Psychology, or related field preferred.
- Experience working with English Learners (ELs).
- Knowledge of research-based and evidence-based best practices.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Qualifications
- Valid Virginia teaching license or eligibility for licensure.
- Experience with data analysis and interpretation.
- Experience with curriculum development and implementation.
- Experience with instructional methods and resources.
- Experience with service delivery and assessment practices.
Skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
