About the role
The Shift Supervisor plays a crucial role in supporting the Store Leadership Team, particularly during the absence of a manager on the sales floor. Their primary duties include supervising store staff, ensuring high levels of customer engagement, and driving sales.
Responsibilities
- Supports Store Management in generating sales potential by being present on the sales floor and setting a positive tone.
- Holds store keys to open and close the store without management as needed.
- Ensures customer service is the top priority, collaborating with Sales Associates to meet sales goals and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
- Manages rest and meal break schedules and covers all zones.
- Provides relevant feedback, coaching, and redirection in areas such as customer engagement, selling, and sales floor etiquette.
- Manages merchandise presentations, signage, and displays, and escalates performance concerns to the Store Manager.
- Motivates and inspires associates to build brand loyalty and maintain a positive store environment.
- Aids in store security by checking bags and monitoring fitting rooms.
- Treats staff professionally, courteously, and respectfully, and assists with processing return/exchange transactions, authorizing promotional discounts, and handling employee sales.
- Ensures compliance with all LP policies and adheres to inventory management procedures.
- Represents the company in a professional and positive manner.
Requirements
- At least 1 year of key holder experience in a retail setting preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Available to work weekends (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday).
- Commitment to two store closings per week, including one on Friday or Saturday.
- Ability to use and operate a retail POS system and inventory scanner.
- Ability to make change using American monetary units.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build positive working relationships.
- Completion of the Shift Supervisor three-month training program.
Qualifications
- Able to lift large and heavy packages and boxes rapidly and constantly, and perform a continuous process of loading and unloading large boxes throughout a shift.
- Able to reach overhead, bend, kneel, and carry product, necessary for customer service, inventory re-stock, processing shipments, and store merchandising.
- Able to stand/walk for extended periods of time.
- Able to safely lift 50 lbs. without restrictions.
- Able to regularly perform store maintenance tasks such as sweeping, vacuuming, emptying trash, and cleaning.
- Able to use and climb ladders and/or step stools.
- Able to perform repetitive motions like hanging, folding, ringing up customers, etc.
- Able to use caution when dealing with difficult customers, houseless, and/or transient individuals and avoid confrontations.
- Work in an environment with noise levels that are usually moderate to loud.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
