About the role
Located where miles of breathtaking ocean views meet dense coastal forests, Adventist Health Mendocino County has a rich history serving community members on the coast since 1971. We are comprised of a 25-bed critical access hospital and offer a range of services in Fort Bragg.
Responsibilities
- Supervises the daily operations of the diagnostic imaging department, including patient services, personnel, scheduling, finance and equipment.
- Ensures compliance with local, state and federal regulations, standards and protocols.
- Exercises independent judgment when recruiting, training, coaching, supervising and responsibly directing assigned staff.
Requirements
- Education and Work Experience: Associate's Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Preferred Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Preferred Master's Degree: Preferred Five years' registered technologist experience: Preferred
- Licenses/Certifications: Certification or licensure in one of the following areas: ARRT(R) or ARRT(CT) or ARRT(MRI) or ARRT(M), or Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer with ARDMS or Certified by the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist: Required Intravenous Therapy Certification: Preferred
Qualifications
- Essential Functions: Coordinates all technical operations of the diagnostic imaging department. Ensures timely processing of all patients while prioritizing emergent procedures, minimizing patient waits and optimizing turn-around times. Monitors and directs the Radiology Information System (RIS) and Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS). Ensures the integrity of patient medical images and data while adhering to Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and other patient confidentiality guidelines and regulations.
- Supervises diagnostic imaging personnel, including recruiting, hiring, orientation, training and development, scheduling and regular performance evaluation. Ensures optimum levels of staffing in accordance with hospital productivity targets. Performs radiologic technologist duties as needed. Conducts regular staff meetings and manages departmental committees and projects as directed.
- Manages quality assurance and evaluates new business opportunities and management approaches. Recommends improved medical imaging protocols and designs and implements performance improvement programs as needed. Ensures compliance with Joint Commission and local, state and federal regulations, standards and protocols.
- Affairs: Assists in strategic resource planning and develops, implements and oversees department salary, operation and capital budgets. Researches and recommends new technologies and equipment to increase departmental productivity.
- Other Job Related Duties: Performs other job-related duties as assigned. Organizes and manages the department's budget and resources.

Pay
The estimated base pay for this position is $51.09 to $70.07. Additional individual compensation may be available for this role through differentials, extra shift incentives, bonuses, etc. Base pay is only a portion of the total rewards package, and a comprehensive benefits program is available for qualifying positions.
