About the role
The Operations Supervisor is a key member of the Distribution Center management team responsible for optimizing operations, managing associates, and maintaining a safe, efficient environment.
Responsibilities
- Manage specific functional areas within the Distribution Center and ensure achievement of productivity and quality targets
- Train, manage, and develop all Distribution Center associates
- Maintain full knowledge of the Warehouse Control System (WCS) and Warehouse Management System (WMS) platforms
- Collect, report, and provide feedback on operations functions using SAP, Excel, queries, and WMS reporting
- Report on operations metrics to evaluate productivity, quality, and safety
- Create a positive team environment that encourages associates to provide insights and feedback to improve processes, adapt to changes, and focus on customer satisfaction
- Maintain all Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) safety standards, including accident, injury, damage, and threat reporting
- Identify, report, and follow up on property damage and safety concerns
- Lead Lean Six Sigma activities
Requirements
- Experience operating in high-volume distribution operations
- Good interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written
- Ability to accept and meet critical deadlines with good planning and organization skills
- Strong analytical and data manipulation skills
- Proficient use of Microsoft Office applications
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Minimum of two (2) years related distribution experience and/or training
Skills
- Extensive walking and standing on hard surfaces
- Regularly required to talk, hear, sit, stand, and/or walk
- Use fingers, hands, arms, and feet to feel, handle, grip, grasp, lift, operate, push, pull, bend, and/or twist for up to ten (10) hours/day
- Occasionally lift and carry items weighing up to fifty (50) pounds
- Ability to work safely on elevated surfaces (2nd level mezzanine)
