Supervisor, Day Health Services
The Arc of Union County Inc. is seeking a Supervisor, Day Health Services to join our team. Reporting to the Assistant Director, Day Health Services, this role involves delivering quality person-centered services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
About the Role
This position operates under the supervision of an Adult Health Registered Nurse, Supervisor, Day Health Services. The incumbent will ensure the provision of comprehensive care, monitor residents' health needs, and guide appropriate interventions. Additionally, the incumbent will assist in developing and implementing programs that enhance the social, behavioral, and independent living skills of service recipients.
Responsibilities
- Maintain ongoing monitoring and documentation of residents' health needs.
- Identify and address emerging health needs promptly.
- Provide guidance and intervention as directed.

- Engage service recipients in small group outings, leisure activities, and community experiences.

Requirements
- Current NJ Licensed Practical Nurse Licensure required.
- One year supervisor-level experience with a combined three years of Direct Support Professional and Assistant Supervisor roles, focusing on individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities.
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Services or a related field preferred.
- Demonstrated understanding of knowledge, abilities, and skills relevant to the role.
- Flexibility and ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Valid New Jersey driver’s license and abstract (no more than 5 points).
- Complete State/Federal Criminal Background checks and Central Registry checks.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of Person-Centered Planning and adherence to Agency policies and procedures.
- Experience in designing and supervising programs for individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities.
- Ability to work in an ever-changing, busy, and fast-paced environment.
- Physical ability to perform tasks such as carrying up to 35 pounds, driving a 6-person passenger van, and operating manual devices.
- Skills in verbal and physical crisis management techniques.
- Positive public relations and communication skills.
- Ability to apply Agency Training Crisis Management techniques consistently with policy and procedure.
