Job Responsibilities
- Direct the total nursing care activities in the facility, working closely with the Director of Nursing Services
- Develop, update, and communicate resident care plans
- Ensure staff is implementing care plans and performing care activities appropriately
- Maintain current resident care plans and respond to changes in resident status
- Follow physician orders and transmit them promptly and accurately
- Document comprehensive and complete nursing notes
- Administer medication according to procedure, if applicable
- Initiate emergency procedures as needed
- Contribute to positive resident and family relations
Requirements
- Current, unencumbered license to practice as an RN in Massachusetts
- CPR certification
- Minimum one (1) year experience in a hospital, long-term care facility, or related healthcare facility
- Strong assessment skills and knowledge of restorative nursing and rehabilitation policies
- Able to make independent decisions and deal tactfully with personnel, residents, and families
- Knowledge of nursing and medical practices, as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines that pertain to long-term care
- Leadership and supervisory ability, with a willingness to work harmoniously with professional and non-professional personnel
