Responsibilities
- Aid Project Managers in interpreting contract documents and ensuring mechanical work aligns with contract specifications.
- Coordinate with Project Managers on the startup of mechanical systems.
- Conduct inspections for proper installation of mechanical systems.
- Review drawings and specifications for adherence to System mechanical construction standards, codes, and costs, recommending necessary adjustments.
- Assess requests for mechanical modifications from architects/engineers, contractors, or using agencies.
- Prepare detailed field reports documenting observations, instructions given, and recommended corrective actions.
- Train Facilities Planning & Construction staff on mechanical construction practices.
- Verify compliance of submittals, testing, and air balance reports with contract documents.
- Select and coordinate testing, air balancing, and commissioning agents.
- Approve payments to these agents.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Seven years of mechanical construction experience.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of construction principles and practices.
- Ability to read and interpret contract documents.
- Effective communication and relationship-building skills with project architects/engineers and contractors.
- Ability to travel and multi-task.
- Ability to work cooperatively with others.
