Supervisor, Construction - Mechanical

Responsibilities

• Aid Project Managers in interpreting contract documents and ensuring mechanical work aligns with contract specifications.
• Coordinate with Project Managers on the startup of mechanical systems.
• Conduct inspections for proper installation of mechanical systems.
• Review drawings and specifications for adherence to System mechanical construction standards, codes, and costs, recommending necessary adjustments.
• Assess requests for mechanical modifications from architects/engineers, contractors, or using agencies.
• Prepare detailed field reports documenting observations, instructions given, and recommended corrective actions.
• Train Facilities Planning & Construction staff on mechanical construction practices.
• Verify compliance of submittals, testing, and air balance reports with contract documents.
• Select and coordinate testing, air balancing, and commissioning agents.
• Approve payments to these agents.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Seven years of mechanical construction experience.

• Ability to read and interpret contract documents.
• Effective communication and relationship-building skills with project architects/engineers and contractors.
• Ability to travel and multi-task.
• Ability to work cooperatively with others.
