Supervisor, Clinical Social Work - Case Management (Full-Time, Exempt)
Compensation Range: $46.90 - $63.31 per hour, based on applicable experience
Schedule: Days, 8-hour shifts, fixed weekends off (Saturday & Sunday), 80 hours per pay period
About the role
The Clinical Social Work Supervisor provides operational, professional, and clinical leadership for hospital social work services across the Emergency Department, inpatient areas, and BISP. They direct staffing and practice, develop staff capability, consult on complex psychosocial and behavioral health cases, and advance safe transitions, patient self-determination, equitable access, compliance, and measurable improvement. Primary accountabilities include safe social work practice, dependable coverage, staff competence, timely transitions, compliant documentation, effective community partnerships, and sustained performance improvement.
Responsibilities
- Provide operational and clinical leadership for hospital social work services
- Direct staffing and practice across Emergency Department, inpatient areas, and BISP
- Develop staff capability and consult on complex psychosocial and behavioral health cases
- Advance safe transitions, patient self-determination, equitable access, compliance, and performance improvement
- Ensure safe social work practice, dependable coverage, and staff competence
- Oversee timely transitions and compliant documentation
- Foster effective community partnerships and sustained performance improvement
- Maintain practice consistent with law, organizational policy, California LCSW scope and ethics, and recognized ACMA, CMSA, and NASW guidance
- Recognize and respond to age-related, developmental, emotional, cognitive, cultural, linguistic, and psychosocial needs of pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients and their support systems
- Respond calmly to crisis and time-sensitive needs
- Fulfill the essential functions of the position
Requirements
- Three years of progressively responsible acute-care social work or hospital case management experience, including complex discharge planning and behavioral health/psychiatric placement
- One year of demonstrated leadership experience
- Demonstrated experience in staff education, performance improvement, chart review, policy/workflow development, and interdisciplinary collaboration
Qualifications
Minimum
- Current California Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)
- Current CPR Certification
Desired
- Five years of acute care social work or hospital case management experience
- Two years of formal supervision/management experience
- Current Associate Clinical Social Worker (ASW) supervisor qualification
- Midas or comparable platform experience
- Nationally recognized case management or advanced social work certification
