SUPERVISOR CARPENTER
About the role
The Healthy Homes Office of Mold Assessment and Remediation (OMAR) is seeking a Carpenter Supervisor to lead a specialized team addressing mold and leak repairs citywide. The program focuses on resolving work orders older than 100 days and improving response times.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily activities of carpenters and other assigned personnel.
- Plan, assign, and review work to ensure it meets project specifications and quality standards.
- Interpret blueprints, drawings, and project documents to guide carpentry tasks.
- Ensure proper use and maintenance of carpentry tools, equipment, and materials.
- Monitor work progress and make adjustments to schedules as needed.
- Inspect completed work to ensure compliance with safety standards and building codes.
- Train, mentor, and provide technical guidance to carpenters.
- Enforce safety protocols and promote a safe work environment.
- Communicate with project managers, contractors, and other trades to coordinate activities.
- Aid in material procurement and inventory management for carpentry needs.
Requirements
Seven (7) years of recent, satisfactory, full-time, paid experience as a carpenter, with at least two (2) years of supervisory experience; or a satisfactory equivalent.
