About the role

Leads a staff of audiologists in providing diagnostic and therapeutic hearing services, including dispensing of hearing aids.

Recommends practices to ensure compliance with TPMG and outside regulatory agency standards.

Makes recommendations for monitoring and adjusting operations in order to achieve revenue, productivity, quality and MPS targets.

Administers diagnostic audiological tests that allow the differentiation between types of hearing disorders, coordinates and interprets test results and consults with and makes recommendations on hearing disorders to physicians.

Responsibilities

  • Leads activities of the audiology and hearing aid center staff.
  • Provides recommendations for Human Resource management in conjunction with manager. Includes interviewing, hiring, training, development, supervision and evaluation of clinical providers and/or department staff.
  • Collaborates with the Chief of Otorhinolaryngology to communicate and facilitate the integration of best practices for Audiology care.
  • Leads activities to maintain quality of care and service standards. May be responsible to ensure staff is in compliance with audiology licensing laws and ethical codes and other local, state and federal regulations. Provides input for evaluating clinical competency and annual performance evaluation to ensure high quality professional standards.
  • Has oversight of the Hearing Aid Center business venture, including growth of the business and profit and loss responsibility.
  • May contribute to development and presentation of new regional and/or service area Audiology and Hearing Aid Center initiatives and assists in planning for new equipment, space and facility upgrades.
  • May be involved in developing and monitoring operating and capital budgets, and ensuring that the services operate within the allocated funds.
  • Ensures ongoing professional development for self, clinical staff, and student affiliates.
  • Functions as a practicing audiologist.

Requirements

  • Minimum of three (3) years of post-licensure experience in the field of audiology required.
  • Masters degree required
  • Temporary Audiologist License (California) required at hire OR Audiologist License (California) required at hire
  • Basic Life Support
  • National Provider Identifier required at hire

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated ability to work in teams and have effective communication and listening skills.
  • Knowledge of local and state requirements of newborn hearing screening protocols.
  • Basic business skills and acumen.
  • Ability to work in a Labor/Management Partnership environment.

Skills

  • Experience in advanced diagnostic testing such as: Auditory Brainstem Response (ABRs), Videonystagmography (VNGs), etc, dependent on assigned Area.
  • Active membership and participation in state and local associations preferred.
