Supervisor

Responsibilities

• Functions as a critical liaison to management to assure established hospital-wide health, safety, security, and environmental protection programs are functional and being carried out on a routine basis throughout the hospital.
• Leads, supports, and coordinates security-specific functions for the protection of patients, staff, and visitors, in a focused, productive, and cost-efficient manner.
• Closely interacts with others in controlling situations of emergency, crisis, and violent, disruptive behavior.
• Minimizes losses due to accidents and/or incidents which result in lost time, loss of property, or interruption to the business.
• Trains new security officers.
• Responsible for the installation, maintenance, and oversight of Security Technology Systems including Access Control, Alarm Monitoring, CCTV, and Infant Abduction Systems.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in Security Systems.
• Firm organizational ability and time management skills.
• Excellent human relations, oral, and written communication skills.
• Education: Associates Degree preferred, specializing in Criminal Justice, Civil Law, or Sciences.
• Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a healthcare safety-security environment.
• Registered NYS Security Guard Certificate required.
• Valid NYS driver’s license required.
• Complete annual NYS - OMH Preventing and Managing Crisis Situations (PMCS) training.
