This position is located at Wasco State Prison in Wasco, Kern County.

About the Role

Effective July 1, 2025, the Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025) requires full-time employees in Bargaining Unit 19, and related Excluded, Exempt, and Statutory Exempt employees, to have their base salary reduced by 3% and receive 5 PLP 2025 leave credits monthly through June 2027. Part-time and permanent intermittent employees are subject to the same conditions on a prorated basis.

A recruitment and retention bonus may be available for clinicians newly hired with CCHCS. Eligible individuals may receive a $10,000 one-time stipend after six months of employment and a monthly differential during their first year (totaling $20,000). CDCR/CCHCS employees may also be eligible for a $5,000 referral bonus if the referred candidate is hired and remains employed for 90 days.

The Supervising Psychiatric Social Worker (SPSW) will be supervised by the Chief Psychologist and report to the Correctional Health Services Administrator II and the Standards Compliance Coordinator regarding social work issues pertinent to Title 22 or other licensure requirements. The SPSW will provide direct supervision to psychiatric social workers working with mentally or developmentally disabled persons in outpatient and inpatient settings.

Responsibilities

• Supervise psychiatric social workers in evaluations, therapeutic interventions, and discharge planning for mentally or developmentally disabled individuals.
• Ensure compliance with Mental Health Services Delivery System (MHSDS) Departmental and licensure standards in service provision.
