About the Role

Under the general direction of the Chief Psychologist, the Supervising Psychiatric Social Worker I, CF (SPSW I) provides supervision to the Psychiatric Social Workers with and on behalf of mentally, physically or the developmentally disabled person.

This position is located at Mule Creek State Prison in Ione, CA (Amador County).

Responsibilities

• Secure accurate social data and record such data systematically
• Report and interpret statistical data
• Give field work training to psychiatric social work interns
• Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships within the department, other governmental agencies, health care partners, and communities

Compensation & Benefits

• Recruitment and Retention Bonus: Newly hired clinicians with California Correctional Health Care Services may be eligible for a $10,000 one-time recruitment and retention stipend (subject to eligibility criteria, including remaining employed with CCHCS for six months)
• Monthly Differential: Individuals may be eligible to receive a monthly recruitment and retention differential during their first year with CCHCS (totaling $20,000), subject to eligibility criteria
• Referral Bonus: CDCR/CCHCS employees may be eligible for a $5,000 referral bonus should you be selected for hire and remain employed with CCHCS for 90 days (referring employee's name, classification, PERNR, and work location required)
• Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025): Effective July 1, 2025, Bargaining Unit 19 employees will have base salary reduced by 3% and receive 5 PLP 2025 leave credits monthly through June 2027 (prorated for part-time and intermittent employees)
