SUPERVISING PSYCHIATRIC SOCIAL WORKER I, CORRECTIONAL FACILITY

Job Description and Duties

Effective July 1, 2025, in accordance with the applicable Memorandum of Understanding, the Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025) was implemented in response to the status of the State budget. PLP 2025 requires each full-time employee in Bargaining Unit 19, and related Excluded, Exempt and Statutory Exempt employees, will have their base salary reduced by 3 percent and will receive 5 hours PLP 2025 leave credits monthly through June 2027. Salaries do not reflect the recent changes.

Responsibilities

• Provides clinical supervision in a mental health or counseling setting, including overseeing and guiding the work through clinical supervision of unlicensed social workers or students.
• May be assigned to supervise and train unlicensed social workers or other mental health staff that require clinical oversight.
• Monitors the quality and safety of mental health services provided to CCHCS patients.
• Supports unlicensed mental health staff's professional growth and development.
• Maintains a strong, established workforce to deliver quality care to patients within CCHCS.
• Identifies and removes obstacles to providing mental health services.
• Identifies and monitors corrective action plans.
• Mentors staff.
• Participates in Quality Management processes.
• Up to 40% statewide travel is required with this position.

Qualifications

The Supervising Psychiatric Social Worker I, CF must possess a Master's degree in Social Work or a related field from an accredited college or university, and a current license as a Social Worker in the State of California. They must have a minimum of two years of experience in a mental health or counseling setting, including experience in clinical supervision of unlicensed social workers or students. They must also have a minimum of one year of experience in a supervisory capacity.

Benefits

Individuals may be eligible to receive a $10,000 one-time recruitment and retention stipend should they meet the eligibility criteria, including but not limited to remaining employed with CCHCS for six months. Additionally, individuals may be eligible to receive a monthly recruitment and retention differential during their first year with CCHCS (totaling $20,000), should they meet the eligibility criteria.

Pay

The salary range for this position is $60,000 - $80,000 annually, depending on qualifications and experience.

Schedule

This is a limited term position which may be extended or become permanent.
