Job Summary

The Supervising OB/GYN Physician works with the leadership of the Women's Health department to build the Sexual and Reproductive Health, Obstetrics and Gynecology practice at CHN centers. This role includes evaluating the quality of patient care and serving as a consultant to other health care professionals.

Responsibilities

  • Provides medical services to patients in accordance with CHN clinical policies and procedures on a regularly assigned schedule.
  • Affords assistance in training of staff and students around Women’s Health topics.
  • Affords assistance to the Medical Director for Women’s Health in quality assurance, chart review, policy creation and implementation and other leadership roles in the department.
  • Serves as Director for Women’s Health in his/her absence.
  • Conducts comprehensive examinations and diagnoses patients at an assigned center or centers.
  • Collaborates with the Director of Women's Health, Center Medical Director, Director of Primary Care.
  • Affords assistance in reviews of administrative and clinical policies and procedures annually to ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements—proposes changes and new policies to the Director for Women’s Health and the Vice President of Medical Affairs.
  • Affords assurance that providers, nurses and laboratory staff adhere to CHN policies and procedures in the delivery of care.
  • Works with the Medical Affairs central office to ensure new staff are trained and oriented to CHN.
  • Participates in monthly clinical staff meetings and monthly Providers’ meetings.
  • Oversees the chart audit process and maintains a peer review process for assigned providers.
  • Facilitates related services for health center patients and CHN staff as appropriate, with respect to their confidentiality and privacy.
  • Participates in continuing education and maintains credentials as required.
  • Participates in committees and conducts other duties as assigned by supervisor.
  • Ensures compliance with:
    • Performance evaluations
    • Employee Health Service
    • Agency and clinic/Department orientation of new employees

Qualifications

  • MD License in NYS
  • Board certified in OB/GYN
