Supervised Child Custody Visitation Monitor

Salary: $20/hr
Schedule: Saturdays only, 9 AM–4:30 PM

About the role

The individual in this position will provide supervised visits and parent exchanges, allowing the child to interact with the non-custodial parent in a safe environment and promote a healthy relationship when possible. The primary purpose is to allow children to preserve relationships with important people in their lives under the guidance of the Family Court.

Responsibilities

• Monitor court-ordered visits and parent exchanges, overseeing interactions between children and the non-custodial parent to maximize benefit for the child and family.
• Assist children and families in maintaining or reestablishing healthy, safe relationships in a neutral space.
• Provide custody evaluators with accurate documentation and supplemental information on the visitation and parent exchange process.
• Conduct monitored visits and parent exchanges as outlined by Philadelphia Family Courts, which may include hands-on assistance.
• Ensure child and family safety in accordance with court orders.
• Provide verbal feedback to clients regarding their conduct and progress during visits, following WES visitation policies and procedures.
• Monitor and maintain a safe visitation and parent exchange environment; terminate visits if deemed inappropriate or if improper conduct occurs.
• Clearly define visitation rules for all parties and notify Family Courts if rules are violated.
• Establish and maintain professional files with all required documentation, including incident reporting.
• Maintain accurate, complete, and comprehensive notes, entered into the Credible-EMR system within 48 hours of service.
• Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Associate degree in human services or a related field, plus two years of paid experience providing services in direct contact with children and families; or a high school diploma plus three years of paid experience working in direct contact with children and families in a community-based or trauma-informed setting.
• Experience with child welfare, school-based services, domestic violence, or victim advocacy is a plus.
• Valid FBI clearance, criminal history check, and child abuse history clearance required.

• Strong written communication skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Excel, Word).
• Ability to navigate EMR systems.
• Ability to work with participants who exhibit challenging behaviors.

• Professional communication and effective working relationships with families, associates, and Family Court liaisons.
• Good organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize work according to a preordained schedule.
• Ability to handle conflicts with diplomacy and tact.
