Superintendent 2
About the role
The Superintendent 2 position at Manhattan Construction Company is responsible for overseeing field operations to ensure safe, timely, and profitable project completion. This role requires strong leadership, organizational, and time management skills, as well as excellent communication and client service abilities.
Responsibilities
- Implementation of Operation Zero and all Manhattan safety policies
- Day-to-day on-site supervision of field labor force
- Review and approve Trade Contractor Pay Applications and material invoices with Project Manager
- Manage quality program
- Coordinate site testing and inspection reports
- Monitor costs, including labor time and material
- Manage self-perform features of work
- Manage the CPM schedule and look ahead schedules
- Create daily reports and report quantities
- Absolutely necessary permits are secured and inspections occur
- Reviews and verifies RFIs
- Reviews and approves submittals for processing
- Conducts themselves in accordance with our Guiding Principles and exhibits attributes matching the Way We Work
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or equivalent
- 8 years of industry experience
- Part of leadership on at least 3-4 projects or run several complex smaller projects

- Able to effectively lead teams through projects of some complexity

Schedule
Travel may be required occasionally, primarily in the metropolitan area but sometimes domestically (must have a valid Driver’s License).
Working Conditions & Physical Efforts
- Adaptable to all types of weather conditions and traverse and inspect all areas of a construction job site, including walking, climbing, reaching, bending, crawling, or stretching
- Ability to physically stand, bend, sit for long periods, and squat throughout the day
- Ability to repeat the same movements
- Ability to communicate effectively to participate fully in meetings, video conferences, and phone calls
- Ability to compose, send, and reply to emails and written correspondence
- Must be able to lift, pull, or move up to 50 pounds at a time
