Summer Program Cooking Class Instructor

About the role

Taste Buds Kitchen is seeking a part-time summer cook instructor to assist with culinary classes for children aged 9-13. This position offers the opportunity to work more hours based on availability.

Responsibilities

• Engage and teach guests about various cooking and baking skills related to the class menu
• Create a friendly, energetic, and consistent experience for our guests
• Interact with all guests to ensure customer satisfaction
• Set up before class and clean-up after
• Provide first aid / CPR treatment if needed
• Communicate well with children
• Enjoy the small business atmosphere

Requirements

• You are a self-starter who can work in a fast-paced environment and move quickly
• You have a natural curiosity and passion for food & culinary entertainment
• You have an upbeat personality with an infectious smile
• You are eager to get your hands dirty
• You are able to stand for long periods of time and lift 45 pounds
• You are first aid/CPR certified

Qualifications

• You have at least one or more years of experience entertaining kids and/or adults
• You have relevant cooking and restaurant experience, though this is not required
• You have formal teaching experience and training in education and childhood development, though this is not required

Skills

• Confidence in a range of cooking and baking techniques
• Comfortable speaking in front of a group with an amplified speaking voice
