Seasonal Cooking Class Instructor

About the role

At Taste Buds Kitchen, the Camp Cooking Instructor hosts cooking camps for children from the age of four up into the teens. We are looking for a high-energy individual who enjoys inspiring those around them to have fun in the Kitchen. The right candidate should have prior culinary experience, a passion for the culinary arts, and the organizational skills required to plan and host a great cooking camp experience for children. You must be at least 18 years old to be considered.

Schedule

• Monday to Friday availability required
• One of the following shifts during the camp season: 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM or 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM
• Summer camp season: end of May through the end of August
• Winter camp season 2026: last week of October through the first week of January 2026
• Priority given to those available for the entire camp season
• Additional hours available for those with open availability including nights and weekends

Responsibilities

• Host amazing cooking camps teaching children from the age of four up into the teens
• Engage and teach guests about various cooking and baking skills related to the class menu
• Create a friendly, energetic, and consistent experience for our guests
• Responsible for the success of the event from start to finish
• Interact with all guests to ensure customer satisfaction
• Manage and supervise a team of culinary assistants for larger camps
• Set up before class and clean-up after
• Create a controlled, safe, and clean environment
• Provide first aid / CPR treatment if needed

Requirements

• Self-starter who can work in a fast-paced environment and move quickly
• Natural curiosity and passion for food & culinary entertainment
• Upbeat personality with an infectious smile
• Eager to get your hands dirty
• Communicate well with children
• Confident in a range of cooking and baking techniques
• Comfortable speaking in front of a group with an amplified speaking voice
• At least one or more years of experience entertaining kids and/or adults
• Relevant cooking and restaurant experience
• Ability to stand for long periods of time and lift 45 pounds
• First aid/CPR certified
• Enjoy the small business atmosphere
