Summer Program Aide - Mabee Red Shield Youth Center
About the role
The Salvation Army is seeking Summer Day Camp Program Aides to assist with the Summer Day Camp program at the Youth Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Responsibilities
- Assists Unit Director and Assistant Unit Director for Programs with Summer Day Camp program.
- Interacts with children in recreational activities.
- Makes sure programs are effective and safe for the children.
- Controls and manages children's behavior as needed.
- Maintains a positive and productive work environment.
- Safeguards daily activities according to Youth Center policies and regulations.
- Prepares and organizes field trips for children.
- Assists in planning, implementing, and evaluating activities and programs for Summer Day Camp.
- Performs cleaning duties such as taking out trash, cleaning bathrooms, vacuuming rooms, and sweeping/mopping hallways or gyms.
- May provide snacks to children.
- Attends and participates in regularly scheduled training sessions.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Two years of experience working with children, or equivalent training/experience.
- Knowledge of first aid and CPR.
- Ability to ensure the safety of children.
- Ability to motivate youth and manage behavior problems.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate in the English language.
- Ability to observe children and ensure their safety.
Qualifications
- Equivalent to a high school diploma or GED.
- Two years of experience working with children, or equivalent training/experience.
Skills
- Knowledge of principles/practices of First Aid and CPR.
- Ability to ensure the safety of children.
- Ability to motivate youth and manage behavior problems.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language.
- Ability to observe children and ensure their safety.

Hours are determined based on the needs of the Summer Day Camp program.
