Summer Camp Program Aide

Duties

• Assist teaching music instrument and music theory
• Assist staff with supervision, guidance and caring for children
• Provide encouraging instruction to students during group activities
• Aid in the supervision of safety of campers during arrival, dismissal, and transition periods
• Aid in the planning, teaching of lessons, homework support and activities
• Assist in maintaining discipline and encouraging children to follow rules
• Aid in general set up and clean up of program area and with the closing /opening of the facility
• Aid in field trip arrangements
• Maintain a safe environment

Qualifications

• Knowledge of music instruments, able to teach music instruments and music theory
• Ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds
• Valid California Drivers’ License
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel, and basic desktop publishing computer programs

Physical Requirements

• Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel and twist on an intermittent or sometimes continuous basis
• Ability to grasp, push, and/or pull objects
• Ability to reach overhead
• Ability to operate telephone
• Ability to lift up to 25lbs
