Summer Groundskeeper

About the role

GCHS is currently seeking to hire an individual to fill our Summer Groundskeeper position, who is a self-starter with a passion for working outdoors.

Responsibilities

• Receives written work orders or verbal instructions from supervisor.
• Maintains exterior lawn and gardens through watering, cutting grass, weeding, etc., utilizing power lawn mowers, weed eaters, and other yard equipment.
• Digs flower beds and plants flowers, cares for established lawns by weeding, grubbing, mulching, trimming, etc.
• Constructs decorative flower garden borders from wood and other materials.
• Washes windows and other exterior parts of the building.
• Empties trash cans and consolidates trash for weekly pickup; completes outdoor litter removal around the grounds.
• Paints interior and exterior walls and trim as directed
• Replaces worn or damaged parts such as hoses, wiring, and belts, in machines and equipment such as truck, street sweeper, and riding mower.
• Assists other departments with moving furniture and unloading and storing supplies.
• Sweeping, maintaining concrete corners and concrete areas to ensure cleanliness.
