Job Summary
The Groundskeeper is responsible for the maintenance of landscaping and other Club facilities, including parking lots.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Use equipment and hand tools to maintain lawns, prune bushes and trees, edge walkways, and give the grounds a manicured look.
- Operate snow removal equipment during the winter to keep all walkways, parking lots, and building entrances clear and safe.
- Watering, either manual or through an irrigation system, for the entire campus.
- Perform special landscaping or planting projects as deemed necessary, such as seasonal plantings for the entire campus.
- Seasonal placement and removal of all outdoor furniture, grills, etc.
- Installation and removal of all seasonal décor.
- Aid in preparing clay tennis courts for the season.
- Maintain the greens for a 3-hole golf course.
- Maintain the bocce ball court.
- Must be dependable and able to work the schedule required.
- Must have the ability to complete tasks with little supervision.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Knowledge of and ability to perform the required role in emergency situations.
- All other duties as assigned and not outlined above.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED with minimum of two (2) years of ground maintenance, landscaping, irrigation, or golf course operations preferred.
- Ability to read labels and instructions for chemicals and equipment.
- Effective communication skills to exchange ideas with Members, Guests, Vendors, Managers, and Team Members.
- Basic mathematical skills to work with probability, division, addition, subtraction, and multiplication.
- Solving practical problems and dealing with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Interpretation of written, oral, diagram, or schedule forms.
- Regularly stand, walk, and talk or hear.
- Regularly lift and/or move up to fifty (50) pounds.
- Close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
- Regular exposure to outside weather conditions and indoor environments that may include extreme heat, extreme cold, wet and/or humid conditions, high/precarious places, equipment and electrical components, airborne particles, and chemicals.
- Work in a noisy environment with moderate to loud noise levels.
