ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Evaluate and treat campers' minor injuries and illnesses.
- Identify health problems serious enough to require a physician’s attention.
- Inventory, maintain, and control outflow of all nursing and First Aid supplies.
- Safeguard campers’ prescription medications and administer as arranged.
- Record and maintain records of camper visits and inquiries in medical log.
- Communicate with parents and staff on status of illnesses, injuries, and camper concerns.
- Complete insurance forms and appropriate Incident Reports.
- Provide training in preventative health care for staff and campers.
- Maintain camp infirmary/health center.
- Communicate to Camp Director areas for improvement or concerns.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Must have current and valid LPN or RN license from State of Massachusetts.
- Current CPR and First Aid Certification.
- Experience in building relationships with a wide range of age groups including campers, staff, volunteers, and parents.
- General nursing experience with large numbers of school age children.
- Ability to listen with compassion and concern; demonstrate maturity.
- Ability to respond in professional manner to emergency situations.
