About the role
Camp nurses will provide care to individual staff and villagers under the direction of the Health Services Coordinator. This role is ideal for those who enjoy helping others, working with children, and exploring new languages and cultures.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Health Services Coordinator and Village Deans to ensure the healthcare needs of staff and children are met.
- Use an electronic medical records system to maintain health records of the Village.
- Serve as a supervisor for Village's Health Interns/Health Center Assistant (HCA), Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), and/or Village First Aider.
- Work closely with program staff to create a safe and healthy environment for program participants.
- Show adaptability and problem-solving skills in a constantly changing environment.
- Communicate updates to parents/guardians about their children’s health as needed.
- Demonstrate understanding of youth mental, emotional, and social health needs.
- Supervise the distribution of medication to staff and villagers.
Qualifications
- Minimum qualifications: LPN, RN, NP, MA, PA, DO, or MD (current MN licensure).
- CPR certified and experience in first aid.
- Ability to use technology including electronic medical records system, email, and virtual conferencing software.
