Summer Camp Nurse - Overnight Camp

About the role

We are seeking a compassionate and organized Camp Nurse to ensure the health, safety, and enjoyment of our campers and staff during the summer.

Responsibilities

• Provide first aid, basic medical care, and health assessments for campers and staff
• Administer and document prescription and over-the-counter medications in accordance with physician orders and state regulations
• Conduct camper and staff health screenings and maintain accurate medical records
• Manage the camp health center, including medical supplies, equipment, and first aid kits
• Cookout medical appointments and communicate with parents, healthcare providers, and camp leadership regarding participant health concerns
• Respond to medical emergencies and support implementation of the camp's emergency response procedures
• Complete required accident, incident, and medication documentation
• Educate campers and staff on health, wellness, and injury prevention
• Parelabor with camp leadership to maintain a safe, healthy, and inclusive camp environment

Requirements

• Current Pennsylvania licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN), Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), or other approved healthcare credential
• Current CPR and First Aid certification
• Experience working with children, adolescents, or in a camp, school, pediatric, emergency, or community health setting preferred
• Able to assess injuries and illnesses, administer medications, and maintain confidential medical records
• Able to communicate effectively with campers, families, healthcare providers, and camp staff

Qualifications

• Strong interpersonal skills
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Knowledge of pediatric health and first aid
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
