About the role
The YMCA is seeking energetic, positive, and creative staff members to lead an outdoor day camp for campers ages 5-13. This role involves providing quality childcare, fostering achievement, encouraging belonging, and acting as an energetic, positive role model.
Responsibilities
- Lead the camper experience and enjoyment of an outdoor day camp.
- Provide quality childcare.
- Foster achievement.
- Encourage belonging.
- Act as an energetic, positive role model for children and staff.
- Create age-appropriate activities.
Requirements
- Experience working with school age children preferred.
- Requires high energy and an interest in planning and participating in fun and creative recreational and experiential activities with children.
- Ability to create a safe and fun environment for campers to thrive.
- Positive attitude and creative thinking skills.
Qualifications
- Must be 18 years old.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Must pass First Aid and CPR training - WE WILL TRAIN.
- Willingness and desire to work outdoors for up to 10 hours in all weather conditions with children.
- Ability to perform all physical aspects of the position that include hiking, bending, kneeling, stretching, reaching, jumping, jogging, dancing, swimming.
