Summer Camp Counselor - Divinity

About the role

The Y is dedicated to putting Christian principles into practice through programs that build healthy spirit, mind, and body for all. We are seeking Seasonal Camp Counselors to join our Greater Cleveland YMCA team and help provide quality, safe, and healthy programs and services in our community.

Responsibilities

• Implement and deliver camp activities
• Work with children of all ages
• Ensure safety and supervision of campers
• Engage in recreational activities such as sports, games, and outdoor recreation
• Lead singing, skits, and other creative activities
• Collaborate with other counselors and staff to ensure a positive camp experience

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• At least 18 years of age
• One year experience working with children in a day camp setting preferred
• Ability to work effectively with people from diverse backgrounds, abilities, opinions, and perceptions

Qualifications

• Experience with outdoor recreation, songs, music, skits, sports, aquatics, and games

Skills

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong leadership and supervisory abilities
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to changing situations
