Summer 2027 State Product Analyst Intern - Personal Lines

About the role

Nationwide’s Property and Casualty team offers a 12-week summer internship designed to empower you and forge a strong foundation for your career. As a Personal Lines Product Intern, you’ll provide detailed data analysis in support of the State Management team, helping to keep existing products relevant and build new ones through research, critical thinking, and collaboration. This hybrid opportunity can be filled in either Columbus, OH or Des Moines, IA.

Responsibilities

• Gather information from multiple sources (internal subject matter experts, reports, external data) to perform analysis according to company guidelines.
• Analyze data from various business processes (pricing, underwriting, agency management, product distribution, claims) and apply judgment to develop effective recommendations.
• Select appropriate data formats to explain and present findings clearly.
• Complete assigned analysis and tasks within established time and service standards.
• Define data sets, sources, and assumptions needed to complete analysis; determine the best format for displaying data.
• Plan and manage assignments to meet agreed-upon timelines and service level agreements.
• Provide support to internal partners on technical issues and consult with leaders/product managers on analysis outcomes and ideas.
• Communicate with internal and external business partners to request or provide information.
• Build and strengthen relationships with peers and internal partners to support ongoing assignments.
• Apply analytical tools and learned knowledge of core business functions, underwriting methodologies, and performance measurement techniques to recommend actions.
• Participate in training classes, department and company meetings.
• Perform other responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in insurance, actuarial science, mathematics, risk management, economics, finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field (preferred).

• Strong proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software.
• Ability to analyze data, identify underlying issues, devise solutions, and follow through to completion.

Pay

The national hourly pay range for Nationwide Internships is $23 – $50. Placement within the range will be determined by skills, education, training, credentials, experience, scope, complexity, location, and market conditions.
