About Our College Co-op Program
As a Co-op, you will work alongside full-time construction professionals who provide guidance and share their expertise. The program prepares you for full-time employment in various industry roles by assigning specific project responsibilities and daily activities, allowing you to experience the industry firsthand. Supervisors and project staff will structure your work to help you learn about your area of interest while contributing directly to project completion. You will also be assigned a mentor for support throughout your co-op.
Upon completion of each summer term, Kokosing hosts a Co-op Capstone Event where co-ops present their learning and experiences. This event includes opportunities to meet senior-level management and participate in interactive activities showcasing different aspects of the construction and engineering industry.
Responsibilities
- Work with full-time construction professionals on value-added projects.
- Complete assigned project responsibilities and daily activities to gain hands-on industry experience.
- Contribute directly to the completion of quality projects under the guidance of supervisors and project staff.
- Collaborate with a mentor for support and guidance throughout the co-op term.
- Present learning and experiences at the Co-op Capstone Event.

We offer co-op opportunities across all business units of Kokosing, including Kokosing Construction, Kokosing Industrial, McGraw Kokosing, Integrity Kokosing, Olen/Area Aggregate, Kokosing Materials, and Kokosing Inc. Locations span the Midwest (Ohio, Indiana, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Kentucky, and West Virginia) and Mid-Atlantic (Delaware, Maryland, DC, Virginia, North Carolina).

We also offer field/trade experience opportunities where you work in a laborer role as part of the construction crew. Kokosing believes these experiences are essential to understanding how the organization operates. Geographical preferences are accommodated when possible, and final placements are based on project availability and the most valuable experience for you.
Depending on the distance from your residence to the assigned location, a housing stipend for relocation or mileage reimbursement for commuting may be provided.
