About the Co-op Program
Kokosing’s Co-op Program is designed to provide practical construction industry experience, the chance to work on value-added projects, connect with a mentor in your field of study, network with senior leaders and team members, and participate in professional development activities.
As a Co-op, you will work alongside full-time construction professionals who provide guidance and share expertise on various tasks. The program prepares you for full-time employment in the industry by assigning specific project responsibilities and daily activities that offer firsthand experience. Supervisors and project staff structure your work to help you learn about your area of interest while contributing directly to project completion. A mentor is assigned for support throughout the co-op.
Upon completion of each summer term, Kokosing hosts a Co-op Capstone Event where co-ops present their learning and experiences. The event includes meetings with senior-level management and interactive activities showcasing various aspects of the construction and engineering industry.
Opportunities and Placement
Co-op opportunities are available across all business units of Kokosing—including Kokosing Construction, Kokosing Industrial, McGraw Kokosing, Integrity Kokosing, Olen/Area Aggregate, Kokosing Materials, and Kokosing Inc.—in multiple locations across the Midwest (Ohio, Indiana, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Kentucky, and West Virginia) and Mid-Atlantic (Delaware, Maryland, DC, Virginia, North Carolina).

Field/trade experience opportunities are also available, where you work in a laborer role as part of the construction crew to gain essential understanding of organizational operations. Geographical preferences are accommodated when possible, with final placements based on project availability and the most valuable experience for the co-op.
Depending on the distance from your residence to the assigned location, a housing stipend for relocation or mileage reimbursement for commuting may be provided.
