About the Co-op Program
The Co-op Program at Kokosing is designed to provide practical construction industry experience, opportunities to work on value-added projects, mentorship in your field of study, networking with senior leaders and team members, and professional growth. We are looking for students interested in a co-op experience for the Spring, Summer, or Fall semesters. This program prepares you for full-time employment in various industry roles while contributing directly to quality projects.
- Work alongside full-time construction professionals who provide guidance and share expertise.
- Receive specific project responsibilities and daily activities to gain firsthand industry experience.
- Assigned a mentor for support and questions throughout your co-op.
- Participate in the Co-op Capstone Event, where you present your learning and experiences to senior management.
Responsibilities
- Contribute directly to project completion under the guidance of supervisors and project staff.
- Engage in tasks aligned with your area of interest, such as:
- Heavy Highway
- Heavy Civil
- Heavy Industrial
- Project Management
- Project Engineering
- Safety Specialist
- Surveying
- Estimating
- Marine Work
- Project Design & Procurement
- Business Development Support
- Operations
- Heavy Equipment Maintenance
- Heavy Equipment Repair
- Gain field/trade experience by working in a laborer role as part of a construction crew (where applicable).
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a relevant degree program (e.g., construction management, engineering, or related fields).
- Interest in gaining hands-on experience in the construction industry.
- Willingness to work in various locations across the Midwest (Ohio, Indiana, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Kentucky, West Virginia) and Mid-Atlantic (Delaware, Maryland, DC, Virginia, North Carolina).
