About the role

This internship offers a college student the opportunity to experience all aspects of the IT Business Solutions department at FNB, including exposure to executive management within business lines and IT leadership, hands-on training in service management applications and processes, and participation in quarterly internal reviews of applications supporting multiple business lines across the bank.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in LOB/Project Management meetings and change management meetings
  • Attend system training and shadow employees within specific applications
  • Assist with quarterly audit reviews
  • Work within the ticketing system to open and close LOB requests
  • Interact with FNB business partners including IT, Fraud/Risk, Compliance, Finance, and Accounting
  • Attend and observe FNB workplace presentations and related events/trainings
  • Facilitate the flow of requests to meet customer needs and assist in closing requests to ensure compliance with audit requirements
  • Attend weekly meetings with supported business lines and internal IT meetings

Position Overview

As an intern at F.N.B., you will apply classroom knowledge to real-world scenarios in IT banking, enhance leadership skills working with high-performing executives, learn about interest rates and financial drivers, acquire credit skills, and understand complex regulatory compliance issues. Possible positions include support areas such as Finance, Marketing, HR, Project Management, and Accounting.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Learn aggressively: Be open to new ideas, ask questions, and be intellectually curious. Examples include understanding organizational structures, business etiquette, interpersonal/conflict resolution, sales/negotiation skills, industry information, products and services, and functional responsibilities for various bank departments.
  • Analyze: Improve decision-making quality through thorough analysis. Examples include pricing decisions, financial analysis, qualitative analysis, credit risk mitigation, identifying borrowing needs, project timelines, and marketing plans.
  • Communicate well: Deliver information clearly and effectively in writing and orally, adapting to one-on-one, small group, and large-group settings. Examples include business meetings, sales calls, training sessions, email communication, and conference calls.
  • Display teamwork: Collaborate with others to achieve group goals, leveraging diverse experiences to improve results. Examples include department or intern projects.
  • Get results: Be accountable and responsible for output, managing risk while pursuing innovative solutions. Examples include meeting deadlines, delivering quality output, and completing projects on time and under budget.
  • Compliance/Integrity: Follow company policies and procedures, meet legal and regulatory requirements, complete required trainings, and prioritize actions to achieve objectives. All employees are responsible for serving as risk managers by understanding, reporting, and managing risks encountered daily.

Requirements

  • Officially enrolled in an undergraduate bachelor’s program with a major in Finance, Accounting, Marketing, Information Technology, or related fields
  • High school diploma or GED
  • No prior work experience required
