Summer 2026 - Facilities Operations Internship

Overview

This summer, join us at The Ripken Experience in Pigeon Forge, TN, where you'll play a key part in preparing and maintaining our baseball complex for youth teams and families from all over the country. You'll assist with day-to-day operations that help deliver an unforgettable tournament experience. This is a paid internship; we will work with your college/university for you to receive college credit towards your graduation. This summer internship runs from mid-May 2026 to late August 2026.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with field setup, facility cleanliness, trash removal, and hydration station prep
• Variety of tasks essential to the operation of the complex
• Safely operating equipment for grounds and field maintenance such as tractors, golf carts, UTVs, and more
• Maintaining all aspects of the facility’s infrastructure, including artificial turf fields
• Conducting safety and cleanliness checks for both fans and players
• Helping to spot and report maintenance issues around the complex - from HVAC, plumbing, electrical, irrigating, turf, landscaping and paved surfaces
• Supporting other departments, including operations, food & beverage, and retail, when needed
• Delivering a once-in-a-lifetime experience for youth athletes and their families

Required Experience

• Recent graduate, or currently working towards a bachelor's degree
• Prior work experience or an interest in a career in Facilities or Grounds Maintenance or willingness to learn
• Outgoing, high-energy personality with strong communication, leadership, and customer service skills
• Detail-oriented problem-solver with the ability to multitask and manage time effectively
• Team player with a strong work ethic, ready to work long hours and weekends as needed based on business needs
• Reliable transportation

Special Physical Requirements of the Job/Working Conditions

• You may be required to lift up to 70 lbs.
• May be exposed to dust/dirt at the complex
• May be exposed to extreme hot temperatures
