Substitute Teacher Aide - Limited Part-Time
About the role
The substitute teacher aide will be responsible for facilitating the day to day operations of the center or helping the teacher facilitate the daily operations of the center. The substitute teacher aide will monitor and ensure safety and program guidelines in their classroom, provide a safe, happy, and positive environment for all children, plan and implement all activities appropriate for 0-5 year-olds, complete DRDP assessments as needed, and communicate with parents as needed.
Responsibilities

- Monitor and ensure safety and program guidelines in their classroom
- Communicate with classroom teacher(s) regarding any concerns or feedback from families or volunteers
- Participate in professional growth activities throughout the year, both self-initiated and Director initiated
- Implement age appropriate principles, practices, and curriculum for children ages 0-5 years
- Exercise tact, diplomacy, and good judgement when interacting with families and/or volunteers
Requirements
- Six (6) completed units of early childhood education and enrolled in at least 2 semester units at a college until fully qualified or possess a teaching credential
- Eight (8) hours of Preventative Health and Safety Training within three (3) months of hire
- DOJ and FBI Fingerprint Clearance
Qualifications
- On the job training provided
- Title 22 Regulations
- Current principles and practices of early childhood education in a play-based, family centered program
- Family inclusion and education
- Completing observations related to the DRDP
Skills
- Knowledge of Title 22 Regulations
- Ability to plan and implement curriculum for children ages 0-5 years
- Ability to exercise tact, diplomacy, and good judgement when interacting with families and/or volunteers

Pay
Compensation For Non-Benefited, Limited Part-Time Pay Scale Base Rate $18.63-$23.77 per hour Starting pay is determined using our non-clinical pay scales, which feature 6 steps recognizing up to 6 years of relevant experience. Eligible employees may also receive shift differential and holiday pay.
