Substitute Teacher - Limited Part-Time
About the role
The substitute teacher/aide will be responsible for facilitating the day to day operations of the center or helping the teacher facilitate the daily operations of the center. The substitute will monitor and ensure safety and program guidelines in their classroom, provide a safe, happy, and positive environment for all children, plan and implement all activities appropriate for 0-5 year-olds, complete DRDP assessments as needed, and communicate with parents as needed.

- Supervise and provide feedback to teacher aides and classroom volunteers.
- Participate in professional growth activities throughout the year.
- Research, create, and implement age appropriate principles, practices, and curriculum for children ages 0-5 years.
- Complete daily lesson plans, and update lessons depending on specific goals for children in their care.
Requirements
- Six (6) completed core semester units of early childhood education/development and enrolled in at least two (2) semester units at a college until fully qualified or possess a teaching credential.
- Six (6) months experience in a licensed child care center or comparable group child care program.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of Title 22 Regulations and current principles and practices of early childhood education in a play-based, family centered program.
- Current classroom supervision requirements for staff and volunteers.
- Knowledge of family inclusion and education.
Skills
- Ability to coordinate and help coordinate all aspects of the child care classroom.
- Ability to ensure compliance with Community Care Licensing, Title 22 Regulations, and all requirements pertaining to health, safety standards and emergency procedures of the site.
- Ability to research, create, and implement age appropriate principles, practices, and curriculum for children ages 0-5 years.
- Ability to complete daily lesson plans and update lessons depending on specific goals for children in their care.

Pay
Compensation For Non-Benefited, Limited Part-Time Pay Scale Base Rate $20.96-$26.75 per hour. Starting pay is determined using our non-clinical pay scales, which feature 6 steps recognizing up to 6 years of relevant experience. Eligible employees may also receive shift differential and holiday pay.
Schedule
Limited Part-time, non-benefited. Child Care Center is open Monday-Friday.
